Strap on your proton pack and get your traps ready, this fall you’ll be able to hunt more ghosts in Yo-Kai Watch 2, the newest addition to the smash Japanese franchise now seeing immense popularity in the West.
According to a press release sent out by Nintendo, Yo-Kai Watch 2 will be released in North America September 30th, thanks to overwhelmingly popular demand. Yo-Kai Watch 2 will release with two versions, not unlike Pokemon, titled Bony Sprits and Fleshy Souls. Also similarly to Pokemon, both versions will feature rare Yo-Kai exclusive to each version.
Further expansion of the Yo-Kai Watch brand will include an expanded toy line, the Yo-Kai Watch Trading Card game, and a second season of the popular Yo-Kai Watch TV show.
According to Nintendo of Canada’s General Manager and Senior Director, Pierre-Paul Trepanier, “After being such a massive sensation in Japan, it’s great to see Canada start to embrace the mischievous and lovable Yo-kai. We’re excited to continue bringing fun Yo-Kai experiences to Canada this year.”
Yo-Kai Watch 2 will offer similar RPG gameplay and wacky adventures to the first game. The new adventure also offers many new areas to explore outside of Springdale, more than 100 new Yo-Kai, a new-and-improved in-game Yo-Kai Watch, and even the ability to travel back in time!
