Constructed of a scratch-resistant fleece material, the Minions Cloud Bean Bag Gaming Sofa is incredibly soft to the touch. Examining the chair reveals two storage pockets (one on each side), a single top grab handle for easy moving, and a headphone strap for storing your favourite gaming headphones. Functionally, it actually offers more than most bean bag chairs on the market, and the little extras help the chair feel more premium.
Accessing and removing the beans on the inside of the chair is made easy thanks to a larger opening zipper and an included mesh netting that helps keep the small beads contained within the bag. Once removed, the outer shell is machine washable, making it exceptionally easy to keep the chair looking new. It’s an appreciated design feature as someone who has had to clean these style chairs in the past, without the conveniences worked into the Minions Cloud Bean Bag Gaming Sofa design.
The filling, which consists of around 2.3kg of EPP beads, is impressively resilient to weight. Even after a few hours of gaming on the Sofa, the beads immediately rebound and take their original shape. On the note of shape and size, while the very nature of a bean bag chair makes measuring a bit subjective, when laid out on the ground, the chair measures about 35.4 inches wide. When held by the handle and stretched out, it measures 43.3 inches high. A decent size that could accommodate most adults, though according to the specifications, the max weight capacity is 220lbs, something worth noting when considering this chair.

The final design element of the Minions Cloud Bean Bag Gaming Sofa of note is the intentional chair shape of the outer shell. While the chair is designed to be squishy and adaptable, it is constructed so that when sat in, the beads move to form a chair-like shape for the user. It does help create a more consistent sitting experience, as even when ‘reset,’ the beads will naturally move back to that chair position when sat in again.
As for the sitting experience, it’s quite comfortable overall. The chair-like structure actually allows you to naturally sit a little more upright than the average rounded style of most bean bag chairs, which is ideal for gaming. When testing, I found that the positioning of the chair’s structure allowed for a natural curvature of the lower body for easy extension of the legs along the floor while still allowing the upper half to maintain a more upright (though still relaxed) stance.
While I’m overall pleased with the design and construction, there is one note to consider. While the chair is rated for people over 6ft tall, at 5ft 9 inches, I felt that there simply weren’t enough beans in the chair for me personally. When examining the marketing pictures, you’re led to believe that the chair holds a fairly firm structure. I had my son, at 6 ft 1 in, also test it, and he concluded the same thing.
While it does mould into a chair-like shape when you sit on it, thanks to the above-mentioned design, it isn’t nearly as structured as pictures would suggest. This could be achieved with the addition of more EPP beads, but with those included, it simply doesn’t hold up structurally as it appears to in the marketing material.
With that being said, it is exceptionally comfortable to sit in. The amount of beans included creates this wrapped-around effect when you sit in it, holding you in place well. While the design, comfort and overall quality feel and look great, after testing, I would recommend this chair for people with a smaller structure. In the case of my daughter, at 5ft 2 inches, the chair was ideal, and she found it was perfect for her size, weight and frame.
The AndaSeat Minions Cloud Bean Bag Gaming Sofa is a unique collaboration that offers great design and solid comfort. The machine-washable shell and easy bean removal system are such great quality-of-life elements, and the top handle and headphone strap help the chair rise above the crowd. While there is much to love about this particular sofa, its size and EPP filling really do cater to a smaller-framed demographic, and as such, I would recommend this specifically for the minions in our lives.
