The Game Awards 2019 Show Set For December

Probably More Exciting Than Gamescom, Again

The Game Awards 2019 Show Set For December

The Game Awards, hosted and organized by Geoff Keighley, will be holding its fifth iteration on Thursday, December 12th in Los Angeles.

These award shows double as a platform for high-profile developers to speak and reveal their games. Last year, Keighley managed to convince Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo – Shawn Layden, Phil Spencer, and Reggie Fils-Aime, respectively – to get on stage in a show of solidarity for gaming together. More than ten new games were unveiled during the 2018 Game Awards show to a truly massive worldwide audience, and Keighley said today that more reveals will take place at this year’s event.

“This year’s show will celebrate the act of creation, as I turn the stage over to a group of visionary teams selected to share their new products with you,” Keighley tweeted. “I’m honored to be given this platform to celebrate our shared passion on a global scale. You’ll hear much more in the coming weeks about our plans for the 5th anniversary show. It will be very special.”

For those who are going to be in Los Angeles on December 12th and would like to attend live, tickets to the show at the Microsoft Theater are on sale now at prices ranging from $70 to $200. The Game Awards are expected to be as exciting as ever (which is to say, the announcements are expected to outshine the awards). The show will probably run late, but never fear; CGMagazine will keep you updated on all the biggest news to come out of it.
