Everything Announced from Nintendo Direct Mini for March 26, 2020 5

Nintendo’s surprise livestream for March 2020 made a shorter length count with big announcements, adding new remasters to the Switch library while teasing its next main Direct event.

In 25 minutes, the company focused on its current console by bringing ports from third-party studios including 2K Games and even expansions for existing games including Pokemon Sword/Shield.

You can check out the full lineup from the latest Direct Mini below:

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: Monolith Soft

Release: May 29, 2020

Originally released in 2010 for the Nintendo Wii (and later New 3DS XL), the first game of the acclaimed open world RPG series is coming to the Switch.

Enhanced graphics and controls tailor the experience for the system’s three ways to play. Called “the ultimate version” of the game, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will also come with a bonus epilogue made exclusively for the Switch as Future Connected. Players can access the chapter after finishing the main storyline to learn more about what happened to Shulk following his absence in later sequels.

A special Definitive Works edition packs the game with a premium art book and slip-case.

BioShock: The Collection

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: 2K Games

Release: May 29, 2020

The next-generation remasters for BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite are jamming three distinct cities and their DLCs into the Switch. Its award-winning single player modes will also likely be running at 30 frames per second to fit the system’s capabilities while keeping tighter controls for superpowered gunfights.

Much like the Resident Evil: Triple Pack, Its front cover also notes players will need to be ready to download the games and have enough MicroSD card space for fitting the collection.

Borderlands: Legendary Collection

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: 2K Games

Release: May 29, 2020

A far cry from the PlayStation Vita’s portable attempt with Borderlands 2, the Nintendo Switch is getting an all-expense trip to Pandora with three games. The DLC will also be included with the original Borderlands, The Pre-Sequel and aforementioned (hopefully better) Borderlands 2.

The over-the-top first person shooter games follow Vault Hunters exploring the wastelands of Pandora for fabled loot. They also battle against the Atlas corporation and hard-to-kill Handsome Jack for control of the planet.

XCOM 2 Collection

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: 2K Games

Release: May 29, 2020

A base game, War of the Chosen and four additional DLC packs make the Switch version of XCOM 2 a full experience. The turn-based follow-up to 2012’s Enemy Unknown expands on class-based teams centered on taking Earth back from an alien empire and the corrupt ADVENT Administration.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3 – Shadow of DOOM DLC Expansion 3

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: Team Ninja

Shinsekai: Into the Depths (Switch Version)

System: Nintendo Switch

Release: Now

Originally a timed exclusive on Apple Arcade, this 2.5-D underwater exploration game puts players in the diver’s suit of the last human on Earth (or simply the Aquanaut). Following an ice age, players explore the aquatic depths to unlock mysterious artifacts. Oxygen levels are key in surviving the ocean where strange creatures also lurk. The Aquanaut also progresses with upgradeable skills and equipment to help in the journey. Its story mode also comes with a replayable time attack mode, encouraging players to race through mazes and collect as much loot as possible.

Good Job!

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: Capcom

Release: Now

No resumes or interviews are needed for this sandbox platforming puzzle game, giving you more than a dozen jobs to perform in a strange multi-purpose office. Players can use their imagination to fix, move or present different projects while stacking damage costs. Over 100 uniforms can also be found to customize a variety of positions including a janitor, construction worker or IT help staff.

Results may vary, people might sue and walls could be busted. Just another day at the office.

Catherine: Full Body (Switch Version)

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: Atlus

Release: July 7

The semi-updated port of Catherine adds a third love interest and expanded dialogue trees to its puzzle-platform gameplay.

Following the studio’s decision to revisit the game in 2019, the Switch port benefits from the same engine used in Persona 5 along with a new plotline that connects Vincent to new character Qatherine (or Rin for short). Players can even control Joker who makes a special appearance in DLC included with Full Body.

King’s Bounty II (Switch Version)

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: 1C Entertainment

Release: TBA 2020

Bravely Default 2

System: Nintendo Switch

Developer: Square Enix

Release: TBA 2020 (Demo out Now)

More details and a demo were shared for the upcoming sequel to 2012’s Bravely Default on Nintendo 3DS. This time, players become Seth, a mysterious pirate who washes ashore in a new realm. He quickly forms a party with three unique characters on a quest to gather four crystals and bring peace as new Heroes of Light.

Bravely Default II also expands on its battle system, implementing a Default or Brave set of abilities for characters. Defeating special enemies also lets you gain their costumes and abilities which can be changed to fit the game’s variety of enemies.

Players-to-be can head over to the Nintendo Switch Eshop to try the game before it launches later this year.
