New Call of Duty leaked images surfaced after a Twitter user mined the information from a recent game update, hinting at Black Ops 5 releasing in 2024.

A new leak from the Call of Duty developer, Treyarch surfaced over the weekend with many fans predicting Black Ops 5 will be the next game coming out for the FPS franchise in 2024 (post-Modern Warfare 2). The details were first shown by Twitter user, RealiityUK whose account was quickly suspended. Based on the images leaked, fans have said the new title from the Treyarch developers could be centred around the Gulf War era.

The huge cache of leaked information was said to have been mined from a Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile alpha build. It contained different details on several upcoming games from Treyarch, including their next release of Black Ops due in 2024. The leaked name was referred to as “T10” with multiple hints pointing to the series shifting to a Gulf War setting, following up on the Cold War storyline.

Some leaked files mentioned the use of the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, known to be used by the US military during the times of the Gulf War in 1991. Additionally, there was a reference to Mogadishu, which could be related to the October 1993 Battle of Mogadishu. The concept art shown by RealiityUK depicted US soldiers storming a compound in the desert backdrop.

The images could be seen on ResetEra (will not be reposted here) and it showed off a mix of images containing artwork from the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the potential new Black Ops game. One of the maps fans have been meme-ing about has been “Grand Prix”, which showed off Formula 1 cars racing on a track with one fan who said, “I can’t see F1 being too happy with that..”

Another two maps that were of high interest were “Stealth” and “Pillage” that emphasized how soldiers were running around a U.S. military base with the Nighthawk parked in a hanger. While much of this leaked information is speculation, the fact that the Twitter user was banned could mean there was some truth to the details.

Treyarch’s next game was originally set to release next year but a Bloomberg report stated how Activision’s next project would be delayed to 2024. This would spell the first instance in almost two decades where the franchise would not be releasing a new title for the year. Call of Duty’s main releases for this year still have Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 on track for October 28, 2022.
