CES 2024: JBL Expands & Updates Portable, Headphone & Microphone Lines

Every year, tech giants save up major announcements to make waves at CES. Rather than just one huge launch at CES 2024, today, JBL announced upgrades to more than 20 of their headphone, portables and microphone lines, as well as a couple of new devices.

JBL’s headphones have often been a favourite at CGM. The company is upgrading six headphone models at CES 2024 across their Live and Tune lines. This includes upgrades to their battery life, Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities, EQ customization tools, and Adaptive and True Adaptive Noise Cancelling technologies.

The Live TWS 3 earbud line is receiving the Smart Charging Case treatment, bringing the innovative case to the Buds, Beam and Flex lines. This case allows users to access all the important features directly on the case without accessing the smartphone app.

Upgrades aren’t all they had in store for CES 2024, either. The company is launching the Soundgear Sense open-ear earbuds featuring four microphones, JBL OpenSound Technology, IP54 splash and dust resistance. They are also a hybrid design, so you can wear them as both wireless earbuds or with a wire that connects the two. They also announced their USB-C wired offering, the Tune 310C, featuring high-resolution audio with JBL Pure Bass sound.

At CES 2024, they also announced upgrades to the Headphones app to support the JBL Quantum 910X/P coming February 2024 and the Quantum 360X/P in March. This will allow adjustments via Bluetooth on any mobile device while gaming without interruption, as well as customization of RGB, audio and microphone settings, and more.

One of my personal favourite portables ever was the JBL Pulse 4 speaker. Their team has a wide line of portable speakers, whether you’re looking to throw a party, take your dogs on a walk or listen to music in the shower. At CES 2024, JBL announced upgrades to the Xtreme 4, Clip 5, and Go 4. The devices will now be made with recycled fabric and plastics, and printing on packaging is done with soy ink.

Enhancements in the JBL Xtreme 4 include AI Sound Boost, a replaceable battery for extended lifespan, Bluetooth 5.3, IP67 waterproof and dustproof, a multi-speaker connection and a power bank providing 24 hours of playtime. The Clip 5 now features a larger, more accessible opening on its carabiner, an increase in driver power, JBL Portable app support, and multispeaker connection via Auracast. The smallest in their lineup, the Go 4, has an updated shape and strap.

It hosts two mic inputs and a guitar input, a replaceable battery for longevity, is compatible with the PartyBox App and can be paired with other Auracast-enabled devices.

The PartyBox Stage 320 comes loaded with JBL Pro Sound, two high-sensitivity woofers and dual tweeters, and a sturdy handle and wheels for easy transport. This also has the replaceable battery feature mentioned above and features a 10-minute FastCharge boost, which adds up to two hours of playtime.
