Dead by Daylight continues its campaign to bring every horror villain to its asymmetrical horror playground, and the latest villain to get the call is Chucky from Child’s Play.
A brand new chapter update is looming for Dead by Daylight, and with the latest update, a plastic villain is seeking to join the asymmetrical horror landscape, and it is a Good Guy. Chucky from Child’s Play is joining the staggering roster of franchises that have joined Dead by Daylight, and developer Behaviour Interactive has dropped a spine-tingling trailer to showcase the new addition and the new features the killer doll can deploy to maim his prey.
As the trailer suggests, “this Good Guy is always ready for some fun,” and the fun features a more stealthy approach than usual. Players can step into the plastic shoes of the sadistic Chucky while deploying some abilities that have been seen in the film franchise, with the notable inclusion of original voice actor Brad Dourif reprising his role as the Good Guy for his Dead by Daylight debut.
Like in the films, Chucky can lunge at opponents with his Slice & Dice ability, which can instantly close the gap between him and an innocent bystander. Following the more niche offerings in the franchise, Chucky can also call upon the human serial killer spirit of Charles Lee Ray to wreak havoc on the would-be escapists. Fans of The Bride of Chucky can sigh relief, as Chucky can also equip the Good Gal player skin to don the Tiffany Valentine-inspired outfit from the film series.
Interestingly, game director Mathieu Côté previously said in an interview with TheGamer in 2019 that Chucky wouldn’t be included in the game because he’s too funny. So either the crossover announcement mentioned was a distraction from Behaviour Interactive’s plans, or the criteria for killer inclusion has changed since 2019. Either way, you can expect Chucky to terrorize Dead by Daylight later this month.
