From Software announced that this will be the last week that players can enjoy the online servers for Demon’s Souls.
News of the shutdown emerged in November on the official Dark Souls Twitter account saying “Play online one last time, and share with us your best Demon’s Souls moment.” Yasuhiro Kitao, who works in marketing and promotions for From Software tweeted earlier this month about the shutdown.

The game was released back in 2009 on the PlayStation 3, Demon’s Souls became an iconic game for From Software. The game featured an in-depth story, exhilarating combat and an unforgiving difficulty. Players were thrust into a world that made sure that they were going to die over and over again.
From the creation of Demon’s Souls, did the Dark Souls and Bloodborne series gain their popularity. The game became the spiritual successor to the infamous title, Demon’s Souls layed out a gripping gameplay style that captured players around the world. Metacritic awarded Demon’s Souls and 89 out of 100.
While Demon’s Souls never received an official second game, Bandai Namco is releasing a remastered version of the first Dark Souls game for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on May 25. Before the release of the remastered game, Titan Comics is publishing its new Dark Souls tie-in comic series titled, Dark Souls: The Age of Fire. It will be available on May 16.
Having lasted for almost 10 years, the Demon’s Souls online servers will meet its end on February 28, 2018.
