Disney + Day is a time of year where massive reveals, big premieres, and perks are given to the subscribers in celebration of the house that Mickey built, 2022 brings the heat to Canada.
It seems all streaming services are introducing some seriously exciting news this week, and as the week rolls on, so does the content. Not to be outdone by Netflix’s recent announcements of Bioshock and Horizon Zero Dawn, or Amazon’s latest renewal of superhero show The Boys, Disney + Day 2022 is coming in hot with premieres and releases that will make any subscriber feel one with the force.
Disney + Day Announced Premieres On September 8
Thor: Love and Thunder
The latest in the MCU god of thunder films sees our titular character (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey of self-discovery while finding out Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is the wielder of the mythical Mjölnir hammer. With the threat of Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) looming, Thor fans will be delighted to find this on the Disney + platform. Also, a Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder, will hit the platform as well, for those interested in how the film was made.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return
There’s no shortage of Star Wars content on the Disney platform, and for Disney + Day, things get a little more intimate with an offering of behind the scenes footage, as the cast and crew reflect on the ‘making of’ journey that brought the Jedi Master back to screens in this prequel.
Frozen and Frozen 2 Sing-Alongs
For fans of the immensely popular animated Frozen films that took the world by storm in 2013 and 2019 respectively, can now test their pipes with the acclaimed stars of the films with these sing-along versions complete with on-screen lyrics, in case you get lost in the music.
Another new Disney + Day short from The Simpsons will also grace the platform, called Welcome to the Club, no other details have been confirmed just yet though.
Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances
Over the MASSIVELY long 31 season run of DWTS, Disney + is bringing a collage of what the show’s professionals consider the 20 most memorable dances over the storied tenure of this reality show which will be hosted by Derek Hough, Kym Johnson, Cheryl Burke, and Brandon Armstrong.
Tierra Incógnita (Original Series Produced in Latin America)
A Disney original, making its debut on Disney + Day, is the Latin American Tierra Incógnita. The story follows two teenagers discover a new world while searching for their parents who vanished eight years prior to the events of the show.

The Perks: Disney Theme Parks, Experiences, and Products Celebrate Disney+ Day
Disney + Day 2022 adds theme parks, experiences and products in celebration of their annual event, with special offerings and fan-favourite fun exclusive to plus members. With early entry being granted to all Disney + subscribers prior to opening, a full 30 minutes ahead of everyone else on September 8.
What’s more, Disneyland Paris will excite guests with new surprises including special entertainment, dedicated photo opportunities and a blue-themed dessert on September 8, but it’s worth noting Hong Kong Disneyland will celebrate with guests visiting the park on September 10 instead of the 8th.
During Disney Vacation Club’s Member Cruise taking place August 29 until September 5, members will get exclusive gifts and access to nine exclusive shows and experiences that otherwise wouldn’t be included. A Disney + Day special.
