EA Sports FC 24 Revealed As The Successor To FIFA

Following tons of leaks and rumours, it was fully revealed today that EA Sports FC 24 would be the sports-game juggernaut’s newest soccer title—replacing the long-running FIFA franchise.

After originally being shown earlier this year, EA Sports FC 24—the next soccer game in EA’s catalogue—has been fully revealed with an official live stream, game details, and a release date of September 29th, 2023. While some may be confused by the new branding, last summer, it was announced that EA, the US-based video game publisher known for its long list of sports titles, and FIFA, world football’s governing body, will be going separate ways, leading the way for this newly-minted franchise for the publisher.

Coming in EA’s usual Standard and Ultimate editions, EA Sports FC 24 will also be available a week early on September 22nd for those who decide to spend the extra to get the Ultimate version. And speaking of Ultimate, EA revealed alongside all of these announcements that women players would be available in Ultimate Team for the very first time, which is a great step for the franchise. While women’s teams have slowly been added to the games over the years, this year’s iteration will also see the Spanish and Dutch professional women’s leagues included as well.

A new feature fans can get excited for ahead of EA Sports FC 24’s September launch is the ability to recreate specific moments from live matches, where players across the globe can capture the wildest gameplay moments they’ve experienced, where EA will then make them into playable segments and challenges for everyone to try out. The Champions League, English Premier League, and several others will also be returning.
