Epic Reintroduces Guided Missiles in Explosive Content Update

Epic Reintroduces Guided Missiles in Explosive Content Update 1

Epic just recently rolled out their latest content update for Fortnite, reintroducing players to the guided missiles, slurp juice and more.

Guided missiles are now back in the game, with Epic stating in the official patch notes, “In its time away, the Guided Missile has been tweaked and tuned down as it was too strong upon its initial release.” Changes for guided missiles include:

  • Both Epic and Legendary variant drops
  • A shorter fuse duration, from 18 to 15 seconds.
  • movements speeds have been reduced from 1100 to 1000
    Reload time increased to 2.4/2.2.
  • Reduced player damage from 105/110 down to 74/77 damage.
  • Reduced structure damage down from 1100 to 400.
  • Explosions now damage structures with no regard for Line of Sight.
  • Guided Missile can also be controlled via keyboard using the default
    movement inputs.

After the launch of the update, Epic took to Twitter to announce that the slurp juice health time has been fixed and reintroduced to the game, although it should be noted that some players have reported that they are still having issues with the particular item, in regards to it not spawning.

In order to celebrate the return of the guided missiles, Epic has introduced a limited-time explosives mode to the game. Only explosive based weapons can be found within this mode, the wait time between storms have been reduced, giving players ample time to find decent drops. Rocket Ammo has been capped at 120 and best of all, Jet packs have been reintroduced to the mode. Jet packs are now also available for use in Playground Mode, which should make exploring the map a bit easier.

Finally, a small change introduced in the last patch sees the removal of nameplates from opposite team members within Playground Mode, opening up opportunities for local or impromptu deathmatch sessions in Fortnite’s most flexible mode.
