Frank Miller Returns To The Dark Knight Comic

Frank Miller Returns To The Dark Knight Comic 2

Out of nowhere Frank Miller and DC Entertainment have announced that he’ll return to write the epic conclusion for the The Dark Knight Returns and it’s coming sooner than you think. The end to the trilogy will hit store shelves this fall.

The eight-issue comic book will be called “The Dark Knight III: The Master Race” which is the sequel to Millers classic; The Dark Knight Returns will be published bi-weekly under the DC Comics imprint.

The original mini-series is regarded as one of the most influential comics of the 80s, and was heralded as one of the top 10 graphic novels of all-time on several magazine outlets.

Miller will be working with Brian Azzarello who’s worked on 100 Bullets, Joker, and Wonder Woman in his career to conclude the story we all thought might’ve been over.

Miller had some kind words for the caped crusader in a statement.

“Batman remains my favorite comic book hero and a sequel to Dark Knight is going to be daunting, but we’ll do our best.”

DC Comics are ecstatic to have Miller back on this project. Co-Publishers at DC Entertainment, Jime Lee and Dan DiDio explain how the conclusion they have made makes them feel.

“We are thrilled to have Frank back home at DC writing Batman. The story he and Brian have crafted is an astounding and triumphant conclusion to his seminal body of work which influenced and shaped generations of readers and creators alike.”

Azzarello expressed how it’s been working with Miller on this project and what the story will bring to the world finest.

“It’s been an amazing experience collaborating with Frank these past six months. I think we have an epic story that these characters truly deserve.”

Judging by the first image released, it looks like Superman may have his work cut out of him. Possibly going up against an army that Batman has fully trained to carry out his bidding.

This epic standoff between Superman and Batman will mark the 30th anniversary of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS original series when it debuts in later this fall.
