Gamescom 2023: Little Nightmares 3 Show Premiere Trailer 1

Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live showed off a global release video of Bandai Namco’s Little Nightmares 3, revealing a podcast will also be released today.

Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live kicked off with a surprise reveal of Little Nightmares 3! While not too much was revealed plot-wise, it showed off some of the new characters not from the first two games. The developers at Bandai Namco also stated that there would be an accompanying podcast series to follow the release of the game in 2024. The podcast was said to be premiering today with its first few episodes, covering topics on the game.

The gameplay trailer showed off the classic style of two tiny characters running away from the bigger, gigantic NPCs who want to kill the small playable characters. It showed off some new map styles and gameplay mechanics. As for the podcast, not too much was given away, but I guess we will have to listen in and see what it is about with the release of the first couple of episodes. It is called “The Sounds of Nightmares.”

Little Nightmares 1 and 2 were released in 2017 and 2021, respectively, with reviewer Jed Whitaker saying, “The entire game is tense and will have your heart pounding, both in real life and in your hands via the controller’s heartbeat rumble that happens when enemies draw near. Many horror games have a heartbeat rumble effect, but Little Nightmares sells it far better than any other game in the genre, as it isn’t overused or overdone” about the first game, adding, “Personally, I see myself revisiting this game down the line just to replay and enjoy it because it is that good. Seriously, I think this may be my new favourite horror game, beating out the classic Silent Hill 2.”
