Marvel’s New Echo Series Brings Back Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio

Marvel In These Casting Choices

Marvel's 'Echo' Brings Back Charlie Cox And Vincent D'Onofrio As Their 'Daredevil' Characters

The new Marvel series set to air on Disney+, Echo, seemingly brings back fan favourite castings with Charlie Cox as Daredevil/ Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin/ Wilson Fisk.

Since the critically acclaimed Netflix original series Daredevil ended back in 2018, the Marvel universe hasn’t seen the ‘Man Without Fear’ with The Kingpin on screen together. With the announcement of the upcoming Hawkeye spin-off series Echo, the two Daredevil actors are set to reprise their original roles despite the chagrin of the poorly received Netflix The Defenders series.

The pair of actors have been seen in different Marvel licenses as the same characters, with Wilson Fisk appearing in the Hawkeye series as an antagonist, and Matt Murdock appearing as Peter Parker’s attorney in Spider-man: No Way Home. Marvel’s Echo might be attempting to swing in a different direction however, with Murdock seeking a former ally which is speculated to be Kristen Ritter’s Jessica Jones, and is reported to be the plot line of an episode of the upcoming series, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Along with the confirmation of these two iconic characters appearing in the new Disney+ series, Echo seemingly brings Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) from the Hawkeye series along for the ride. The issue with the infancy of certain shows and ideas is speculation, and while the casting choices are indeed confirmed, and these choices were subsequently leaked months prior, plot line information should be taken with a grain of salt considering no other formal announcements have been made just yet.

With the return of two well-received casting choices from the Marvel Universe finally set to collide once again, it remains to be seen if Marvel is bringing back Luke Cage (Mike Colter), or Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) from the Netflix original series. Disney+ Marvel’s Echo is still in production and more details will surely be made available as they become readily available.
