Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Removes Microtransactions in New Update

The market and microtransactions have been completely removed from Shadow of War in its newest update.

In the update, orcs who were recruited through Ranked Conquests and Online Vendettas will be stored in the Garrison. In addition, Mirian can be used to train, upgrade, and customize your orc army.

As for the post-campaign, Epilogue, it has been streamlined to include narration from Shelob, the Witch-king and Dark Talion. Rewards in the Epilogue include the Masks of the Nazgûl, along with new abilities that raise the dead, put curses on does, and summon monsters. After the final credits roll, players also get the option to keep upgrading and defending their fortresses and army.

There are now also more ways to customize and build your character in Shadow of War, as the follower level cap has been increased to 80, and the enemy Captain level cap is 85. Players are able to level up faster thanks to the XP rewards for Nemesis Missions, Online Conquests, as well as defeating Captains. Miran can be spent to upgrade gear, allowing players to re-roll abilities. Adding to this are the new player skins, as they can now either fight as Celebrimbor to relive the first War for Mordor, or duke it out against enemies as Dark Eltariel and Baranor.

Other improvements include more Legendary Orcs to encounter, more ways to get Training Orders, and how followers can surprise players with a gift. The Savior feature in the menu now even lets you turn it off to keep followers from stealing kills.

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Shadow of War continues the narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor with these exciting updates.
