Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Released way back in 2018, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 has now issued a big update to celebrate the free-to-play title’s 5th anniversary.

Although Bandai Namco has officially rung the death knell for the latest title in the series GUNDAM EVOLUTION, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2, the other free-to-play title in the Gundam series is getting an update complete with detailed update notes to equip any pilot with the intel they need to make their next mission a success. With new updates come new MS units, and the featured one for the 1.70 update (1.070 for PlayStation players) is the Hi-Nu Gundam which can be seen in the trailer below.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 patch 1.70 is now live for all aspiring pilots, meaning the Hi-Nu Gundam (also known as the RX-93 V2), seen only as the incomplete RX-93 V in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, is fully pilotable. The complete version of the MS was made real in the companion novel titled Beltorchika’s Children, which tells a different outcome than the film, but the novel was written back in 1988 by the Char’s Counterattack film director, Yoshiyuki Tomino. Besides the exciting MS addition, below are some patch notes for version 1.70 (Thanks to the GGame website).

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 Patch 1.70 Notes

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 Celebrates 5Th Anniversary
  • Of course, the heroic Hi-Nu Gundam couldn’t deploy with no opponent, so the update launched another Beltorchika’s Children MS unit with the Nightengale, also available today.
  • Limited-time missions will be available during the event run time, which will net pilots new MS in Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 upon completion, but fans need to act fast as each reward shifts during the event daily.
  • Weekly five-year anniversary containers will be gifted to players who fall in tier lists between Bronze to Platinum during the celebration, and the tier lists signify players who have played Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 religiously or casually.
  • New missions such as the BOSS mission Ghost of Solomon will be available for pilots to test their metal (mettle?) against.

Fans looking to get in on the action merely need to download the free-to-play Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 to get in on the action. The anniversary event takes place between July 26 and August 23, so there’s ample time to get involved. Fans can head to the GGame website for all of the 1.70 patch notes.
