New Netflix Series 'Monster' Trailer Reveals Evan Peters As Killer Jeffrey Dahmer

A new Ryan Murphy helmed series that focuses on a prolific serial killer, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, unveiled a trailer today with Evan Peters as Dahmer.

Although the title seems slightly redundant, Emmy Award winning Writer/Director Ryan Murphy and Emmy Award winning actor Evan Peters have a history together. Peters has played numerous rolls in Murphy’s American Horror Story across its seasons. The newest trailer can be seen below, with Peters embodying his inner Monster:

The series is a 10-episode limited series and aims to be ‘based on’ the horrific actions of infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer who was active between 1978 and 1991. The series page on Netflix describes the series as “Across more than a decade, 17 teen boys and young men were murdered by convicted killer Jeffrey Dahmer. How did he evade arrest for so long?”. It aims to answer this question, as it focuses on the inept nature of the Wisconsin police department during the time of Dahmer’s heinous crime spree.

Other cast members include Niecy Nash, Richard Jenkins, Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown, Colin Ford and others to tell the story of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The trailer showcases the monster within Dahmer, as he offers a sandwich with mystery meat to his neighbour with a bone chilling smirk.

This isn’t the first time Ryan Murphy has collaborated with an American Horror Story colleague for a Netflix series, as the mixed received Ratched, starring Sarah Paulson as the titular nurse descending into darkness launched in 2020, and has yet to be fully greenlit for a second season, but it hasn’t been ruled out just yet either.

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story‘s entire 10-episode season will release on September 21, in its classic Netflix binge-able state for those looking for a new murder-based show to watch over a weekend.
