Megan Fox Is Playable In Mortal Kombat 1 As The Bloody Nitara

Mortal Kombat 1 has many new features, but with the new comes the return of old characters and Netherrealm Studios announced today Nitara will join the roster as a fully playable character, she will also be portrayed by Megan Fox.

The Mortal Kombat franchise is no stranger to including the likeness of celebrities as their fighters, with Ronda Rousey portraying Sonya Blade and the legendary Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa reprising his role as Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 11 from the 1995 film. With the star power at Warner Bros. disposal, they’ve brought in the likeness of Megan Fox to portray the vampire Nitara returning from Deadly Alliance, complete with a trailer that can be seen below.

Interestingly enough, in the trailer Kung Lao faces Nitara and drops an easter egg from the film Jennifer’s Body, which Megan Fox starred in. Megan Fox has said “I grew up playing Mortal Kombat, and I can’t believe that I’m voicing a character in the new game” including “It’s an honour to be a part of one of the greatest video game legacies of all time“. The inclusion of Megan Fox won’t be the only celebrity brought to arms in Mortal Kombat 1, as Antony Starr, J.K. Simmons and John Cena are lending their likenesses and voices to the massive fighting game as well, as The Boys‘ Homelander, Invincible‘s Omni-Man and Peacemaker.

While Nitara has been referenced in countless titles since her initial release in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, this will be her first fully playable experience since, and she’s included as a main roster Kombatant as opposed to the limited Kameo fighter role many other returning characters such as Kano are relegated to.

Mortal Kombat 1 officially launches on September 19, and fans can check out all of the latest updates surrounding the title by visiting the official Neatherrealm Studios website.
