Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons made waves in July when they announced big D&D collabs, and at NYCC 2026, they revealed two new sourcebooks for D&D | Star Wars.
At NYCC 2026, Wizards of the Coast proved you can make exciting adventures in space and stay seated in the safety of your own home. At Gen Con 2026, the company that enables aspiring Dungeon Masters announced that D&D crossovers would be coming soon, and in the same breath, tore back the curtain to reveal D&D: World of Warcraft.
While there were many miniatures and goodies for D&D: World of Warcraft on display at NYCC 2026 (including the Special Edition expansion book featuring both Horde and Alliance covers), they dropped a bombshell announcement and revealed the first look at D&D | Star Wars. Unlike D&D: World of Warcraft, Star Wars will also have its own Core Rulebook instead of relying on the D&D Player’s Handbook (potentially the 5.5 edition).
While the first look was incredibly scarce in the information department, it’s obvious WOTC is going all out to make the crossover special. Today at NYCC 2026, WOTC revealed that its previously announced collaboration with Lucasfilm and Star Wars will start with two books: D&D | Star Wars Core Rules, and D&D | Star Wars, Tyro Squadron: Adventures.
While information revealed at NYCC 2026 is very limited so far, the collaboration has revealed that Wizards of the Coast has deployed renowned Magic: The Gathering artists: Justin Gerard and Kieran Yanner for the project. On top of that, known Sci-Fi artist Amir Zand (known for producing Halo Encyclopedia and Dune: Imperium box artwork) is also on deck. In D&D | Star Wars Tyro Squadron: Adventures, players will take the fight to the Empire as part of a secret Rebel crew(no direct relation to Star Wars Rebels or Galactic Racer has been confirmed).
Tyro Squadron: Adventures is set during the Original Trilogy, and these new stories unfold as universe protagonists: Luke and Leia battle across the galaxy. Players can expect to fly daring missions, explore new corners of the galaxy, and help shape the Rebellion’s story.
Additional details about D&D | Star Wars (and its core rules) are coming soon, and fans can also look forward to a live play session of Tyro Squadron: Adventures at Star Wars Celebration in April 2027.
