Overwatch 2: Invasion launches on August 10th, 2023, and the face of The Enigma trying to warn the world of the impending fight just so happens to be WWE Superstar and actor John Cena.
A mysterious hacker known as The Enigma has been hacking into streams of top YouTube and Twitch creators, such as Kyedae, Scump, and Shroud, to warn the world of the impending Null Sector Invasion coming to Overwatch 2. Today it was revealed ahead of the launch of the newest season, titled Invasion, that the face behind the hoodie of The Enigma couldn’t be seen for a good reason, as John Cena has been revealed as the character trying to warn us all of the impending fight.
Addressing the broadcast viewers from a fortified bunker, The Enigma’s distorted voice warned of an imminent threat from the Null Sector, which will be the setting for the next season of Overwatch 2, set to release on August 10th, 2023. A new trailer for Overwatch 2: Invasion is set to release soon, with more John Cena goodness accompanying it, while the full role the WWE Superstar plans to play in the upcoming season has yet to be fully revealed to players across the globe.
“It’s been fun seeing the Overwatch community try to put a face to The Enigma,” said John Cena. “Sometimes a face you can’t see is just what the world needs to sound the alarm of a looming, worldwide threat.” Players and viewers should expect to see more of John Cena as The Enigma, including details on how players can actively participate in this event, with details found on the official campaign website.
