PAX East 2022 is finally making a triumphant return to Boston, and PAX Unplugged is also in the wings with the return of live events by ReedPop and Penny Arcade.
After two years of postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ReedPop and Penny Arcade have banded together to bring about the return of possibly one of the largest gaming events of the year as a live in-person expo, PAX East 2022.
The Boston Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the massive event on the east coast, although PAX Online East was held last year to prioritize safety. After the successful rollout of PAX West over Labour Day weekend in Seattle, the event was given the green light.
There will be requirements for vaccination and facial coverings throughout the event. Proof of vaccination will be requested upon entry. PAX East 2022 will feature a huge floor of exhibitions, and host some of gaming’s finest for a 4-day long exciting extravaganza, with the 4-day-long badges and single day passes going up on sale soon, along with a list of the attendants.
Along with PAX East 2022, PAX Unplugged is making an exciting return also, and this tabletop-focused iteration is right around the corner, starting on December 10, finishing December 12. Fans of Dungeons & Dragons and other exciting board games will feel right at home in this massive celebration of the OG RPGs. The Pennsylvania Convention Centre in Philadelphia, PA will be hosting this event, and also require vaccination proof and facial coverings for the duration of the event. For the foreseeable future, PAX events will indefinitely require proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
In exciting news, PAX Unplugged will kick off with a pioneer in tabletop gaming giving a Storytime keynote. From Critical Role, Aabria Iyengar will take attendees on a journey in this special introduction that only the esteemed Dungeon Master is capable of.
PAX East 2022 will take place from April 21 to April 24 next year. Passes and how to get them will be revealed in the coming weeks.
PAX Unplugged is arriving far sooner from December 10 to December 12, with three-day passes going for $75, while single-day passes for the individual days at a smaller $35.
