There is a new crossover event happening with Niantic’s Pokémon GO receiving a new event, and the Pokémon Trading Card Game receiving GO based cards.

There’s a boat load of information surrounding the world’s most popular monster collecting game, Pokémon, as there are new events circulating involving the massively popular Trading Card Game, and of course, the Niantic mobile gaming juggernaut Pokémon GO.

The previously announced TCG expansion sees some GO-based cards hit the massive physical card game, embossed with the mobile title’s signature logo near the basic photo window where the card art is displayed. As pictured, the cards showcase Pokémon artwork in real life scenarios, such as a PokéStop, or a Pikachu walking alongside a GO trainer, as announced back in April. This expansion is set to release starting July 1.

On the mobile game side of things however, Pokémon GO just announced its plans for the massive crossover leading up to that date, through until June 30th. First off, Wimpod and Golisopod will be making their long awaited PoGO debut, and the activation of the Mythical Meltan spawning item, ‘Mystery Box,’ will receive a notable countdown cooldown period reduction. Plus, there will be an increased rate of encountering the highly lucrative Shiny variant that has a blue tail instead of the original red tail colourway.

There will also be many challenges for Trainers to face off with. Instead of the usual one or two collection challenges, there will be a total of six, in varying difficulty, to reward the player with collection medal accolades and the ability to earn rare item gifts, and guaranteed encounters with favourites such as Venusaur and Charizard. Lunatone and Solrock. They will also be spawning more frequently in the wild. The differing spawns depend on the Trainer’s location in either the Western or Eastern Hemisphere.
