Sony set the stage for a massive State of Play 2026 presentation ahead of SGF later this week, and here are all the big announcements.
The Sony State of Play for June 2026 was announced at the end of May, and it landed today just before the huge Summer Game Fest 2026 celebrations. In the State of Play, nearly 60 minutes of game trailers and PlayStation developments were shown off, including some fresh looks at rumoured titles (unfortunately, there was no rumoured GTA VI development from Rockstar Games). Despite offering fresh looks at existing titles, the State of Play had quite a few surprises for fans, as it usually does. Below, we’ve compiled a full list of every trailer and announcement that aired at the State of Play June 2026 presentation, and it can all be seen below.
Marvel’s Wolverine
The PlayStation State of Play started hot and kicked things off with a brand-new trailer for the new Marvel’s Wolverine title from Insomniac Games. This new gameplay segment featured Wolverine in his traditional blue and yellows, and he’s seen launching himself off a cliff to impale an unsuspecting enemy from above. This title is not shy from mature material, as Wolverine’s aggression is shown well, and he wears blood with every swipe from his claws. In one scene he impales an enemy’s head from below in a bloody show of overkill.
Jean Grey is shown joining the fight for the first time in Marvel’s Wolverine, as she can be seen using her telekinetic powers in a bloodbath alongside Wolverine, even doing a partner-type finisher on one enemy with bloody flair (Mystique and Sabretooth were also shown).
One thing is clear: the gameplay shown at the State of Play revealed Marvel’s Wolverine is ready for its launch on September 15, 2026, and it can’t come a moment sooner.
