Spectacular 'Harmonious Live!' Announced By Disney Plus To Livestream On June 21

The huge livestream event, Harmonious Live, is set to stream exclusively on Disney+, with Idina Menzel as host, and many (TBA) celebrity talents to make an appearance.

On World Music Day which lands on June 21st this year, Disney+ in North America aims to livestream a huge musical event in honour of the music centred day, a special performance of the EPCOT nighttime spectacular at Walt Disney World. The event will be helmed by Tony Award Winning musical talent, Idina Menzel, who is possibly most known for her work on the fan-favourite Disney animated hit, Frozen and its sequel. The teaser can be found below.

The Film 45 production will feature music from many popular Disney licenses, such as Moana, Aladdin, Coco, The Lion King, Mulan, and many of their other classic stories can see an appearance. It remains to be seen whether recently announced projects like the Netflix Original, Guillermo del Toro helmed reimagining of Pinocchio starring Ewan McGregor will be featured or not, although it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the animated classic.

Presence Not Confirmed For Harmonious Live

The event claims to entrance North American audiences in a spectacular show of “one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created at Disney Parks.” Disney is no stranger to live performances, considering The Lion King and Aladdin have had successful runs on Broadway in musical form.

The key to the Harmonious Live 2022 event will be its focus on diversity and multiple languages from around the world making an appearance. No celebrity guests have been confirmed yet besides the host, so Disney is aiming to make this event a truly surprising show. Pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, and lasers, along with massive floating screens will be centre stage to immerse the audience in the classic Disney worlds.

Fans looking to stream the event live will need to have an active Disney+ account, and tune in on Tuesday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET to bear witness to the show.
