Star Wars Outlaws, the new Ubisoft open-world title set in a galaxy far, far away, is scheduled to receive a trailer filled with details this afternoon, but before that, the release date has seemingly leaked today.
In what appears to be an accidental early description release, Ubisoft Japan allegedly threw up a private video (the private link can be seen here) that was the Japan drop of the noon scheduled trailer today. Although the video was private, the description was not, and according to Insider Gaming, the video held a description that revealed the release date before the trailer drop. This isn’t the first leak to spring this year, as the new Metro VR title also has a similar issue before its launch trailer in January.
While leaks happen often in the gaming industry, it is rare to see a company leak their stuff by accident. According to the report, the description said the release date for Star Wars Outlaws is August 30. The game also comes in “Gold and Ultimate” editions which will both come with a “season pass”, and 3-day early access will be granted to those who purchase one of the bigger editions.
Update: The release date has been made official, with Star Wars Outlaws launching on August 30 on Xbox Series X|S consoles, PlayStation 5, Amazon Luna and PC through Ubisoft Connect.
How To Watch The Star Wars Outlaws Trailer When It Drops
As mentioned earlier, fans who want to see the trailer when it drops have come to the right place. The trailer is scheduled to go live at noon today on almost all of Ubisoft’s social media channels, and all fans have to do is head over to the official Ubisoft YouTube channel.
Fans should also take note that although this is a leak that appears to have come from Ubisoft themselves, they should take it with a grain of salt until a release date is revealed by Ubisoft themselves, possibly at 12 p.m. today.
