After many days of teasing, the Stardew Valley Update 1.6 is finally here; while fans are anticipating the official launch to land, creator Eric Barone (ConcernedApe)has pulled back the curtain on details surrounding the big update.

Just like the New Year’s event hints, the weeks that followed that leading up to today were full of hints, and finally, the endless teasing for Stardew Valley’s Update 1.6 has ended because it is due to launch today. To commemorate the occasion, all previously revealed update details (as promised by Eric Barone himself) will be listed below, including the new details added today. Eric Barone has previously announced that he would add a new patch note every day leading up to update 1.6, and they can all be seen below.

  • March 12 – Fixed bug where it was faster to harvest left-to-right than right-to-left.
  • March 13 – Extended the area of effect of downward-facing melee attacks.
  • March 14 – Reduced the time you need to push against a pet before it starts shaking and then let you pass through it (from 1.5 seconds to .75 seconds).
  • March 15 – Spouses now have a seven-day “honeymoon” period after marriage which prevents them from laying in bed all day due to being upset.
  • March 16 – Jelly, pickles, wines, and juices are now coloured based on the ingredient item.
  • March 17 – You can drink mayonnaise.
  • March 18 – Added a new Stardew Valley farm type: Meadowlands Farm. It has a chewy blue grass that animals love. You also start with a coop and 2 chickens.

The Stardew Valley creator also posted to X (formerly Twitter) a list of all the mods that can work with the new update, advising users, “I recommend trying out 1.6 without mods, but it’s up to you.” Fans looking for updates regarding Stardew Valley, can follow the official creator’s X account, as he updates fans regularly there.
