Spring is here, and if you’re a fan of games that usually means digging around your library of games for something to play while you beat the heat — keeping with the spirit of Spring, Valve has made available several classic and renowned titles for free, starting today until next Monday.
Valve is calling this event the Steam Spring Cleaning Event, the short event will showcase several iconic titles which have been listed below:
Don’t Starve Together
Dead by Daylight
Cities: Skylines
Tyranny
Borderlands 2
Castle Crashers
Shadows of Mordor
Left 4 Dead 2
Dirt 4
With four days available to all users, standout titles such as Left 4 Dead 2 should give players ample time to experience the title. The game features short but intense matches that have up to 4 players in atmospheric and often over the top encounters with the undead in graphics that still hold up today.
Castle Crashers is another fun multiplayer romp from The Behemoth, offering players with classic beat-em-up action in a fun and over the top cartoon inspired title.
Players looking for single player experiences can check out Shadow of Mordor, a title set within the expansive Lords of the Rings universe, offering players a deep combat system and a unique revenge mechanic that allows encounters with past enemies, making it a truly cinematic and engaging title.
Steam users who partake in the free event will be given the exclusive and new Steam Spring Cleaning badge for their online collection.
The selection of games up on offer are eclectic and diverse, meaning there should be something for everyone to enjoy during the Spring Cleaning event. The games will be available starting today and will run until the 28th, or next Monday.
