While initially scheduled for release in 2026, FromSoftware has confirmed today that The Duskbloods has been delayed until 2027, and fans are happy about it.
In a new statement released to FromSoftware’s socials, the developer that brought audiences Dark Souls and Elden Ring has confirmed the new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, will be delayed until 2027. The developer’s reason for the delay is to “allocate a period for final adjustments to the game rules and balance.”
The statement also reads (translated using Google), “This is in order to realize the concept of this title—enjoyable not only through direct combat but also through various maneuvers and diverse strategies—at an even higher level, based on the evaluations received from all users during the network test held in August, and to deliver an even better gaming experience.”

The developers surmised that after the successful network test in August, they had to retool some of the game’s functions and let it bake longer to get the quality up to par for launch. CGMagazine called The Duskbloods “strange, dark, creepy, complex, sometimes insane and, above all, incredibly fun” during that network test.
Fan reactions to the delay announcement have been surprisingly positive. On forums like Reddit, where fans usually go to complain, fans have praised FromSoftware’s decision. One fan writes, “Network test was so much fun. If they’re delaying it to make sure they’re nailing everything down, then I’m happy. Judging by the wording of ‘final adjustment stage,’ I’m not expecting a long wait.” Nearly everyone agrees on the notion that if the title will be better at launch, they will gladly wait longer for The Duskbloods to launch.
While there is no accurate release window for The Duskbloods, fans can rest assured that FromSoftware is giving it more time to increase quality, and it will release at some point in 2027.
