We here at CGMagazine watched The Game Awards 2022 celebration with a fine comb to put all the exciting announcements and trailers in this one spot.
Each year brings a myriad of events the gaming world puts on display to celebrate the gaming accomplishments of the year. Whether it’s E3, gamescom, CES, or even iD@Xbox, there is an event for all creeds and groups. Gaming has always delivered a gradually diversifying package for fans of every genre, year round.
The Game Awards 2022 prove it with a show that showcases the juggernaut successes of the year, from massive blockbusters like Elden Ring, to the small studio developed titles like Tunic, nothing is forgotten. While celebrating the year that was, the event looks forward to the future with a heaping delivery of announcements and trailers.

Dead Cells: Castlevania DLC Trailer
Dead Cells is still going strong, and they’ve proven it this year with a brand new trailer featuring Castlevania characters facing off against Dracula. The new Dead Cells x Castlevania DLC will land sometime in 2023.

World Premiere: Valiant Hearts – Coming Home – Coming Soon To Mobile
Returnal Comes to PC
Another previous console exclusive title has been revealed to release on PC, and this time it’s roguelike Returnal coming to PC. Expect all the frenetic action the PS5 3rd person shooter gave to gamers to arrive full force onto the platform ‘soon’.
World Premiere: Hellboy Web of Wyrd First Look
The first-ever look at Hellboy Web of Wyrd was given to viewers, featuring visuals from classic comic books, with the hellish hero battling a monster straight from the “deep south.” No release timetable was given just yet, but fans can stay tuned.
Horizon Call of the Mountain First Look
A PSVR 2 exclusive title, takes the world of Horizon into PSVR 2 at The Game Awards 2022. The title launches in February 2023 alongside the PSVR 2 hardware itself.
World Premiere: Post Trauma Trailer at The Game Awards 2022
The new horror title is coming to consoles and PC to an open release date of “soon.”
Viewfinder Gameplay Trailer at The Game Awards 2022
A game that gives off real “Portal energy” in Viewfinder was shown, including some serious puzzle solving gameplay. The PS5 exclusive has a TBD release date, like many titles shown off tonight.

Among Us‘ newest mode, Hide n Seek was shown off, with the Imposter shaking off any possible disguise. Yes you can pet the dog, and yes you can play it right now!

World Premiere: Replaced Trailer
With a stunning 2.5D backdrop, and beautiful pixel art graphics, Replaced adds something new to the lineup of titles presented at The Game Awards 2022.

Capcom showed off mini games and the many locales that will be featured in-game. Including gameplay from characters that hasn’t been shown just yet. Street Fighter 6 arrives June 2, 2023.

SuperGiant games kicked off The Game Awards 2022 main show with a huge bang, with the reveal of Hades II, featuring new gods to meet such as Apollo, and a brand new storyline with the same stunning artwork from the original.
Judas
From creators of huge titles like the original Dead Space and Bioshock, lead by Ken Levine comes a new title, Judas.
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon
This unexpected new chapter in the Bayonetta series shows what happens prior to the events of the trilogy, outlining how Cereza became the time-controlling witch Bayonetta. Launching on March 17, 2023.
Destiny 2: Lightfall
Delivering new gameplay and mechanics, comes the new Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion. As The Witch Queen introduced glaives, this expansion features a grappling hook type power, and a whip-like weapon that can deal serious damage against the apocalypse. Launching February 28, 2023.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Cinematic Trailer
In a touching tribute to the late Kevin Conroy, a new cinematic trailer was played for the new Rocksteady developed Suicide Squad game, expected next summer.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Gameplay Trailer
Sequel to the previous Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivor picks up the 3rd person Action Adventure complete with storm troopers and droids and multiple lightsaber styles to utilize. Coming March 17, 2023.
Earthblade Gameplay Trailer
From the makers of Celeste, comes another pixel art title, in Metroidvania style. Earthblade showed some of its gameplay, and will release in 2024.
Dune: Awakening Cinematic Trailer
The latest look at the newest Dune open world game was shown at The Game Awards 2022, without any timetable for release. It provides real spice to the sci-fi epic.
Death Stranding 2 Cinematic Trailer
The sequel to the latest Kojima Productions title, Death Stranding 2 cinematic trailer was shown next, providing some storyline hints and a dare from Kojima himself for fans to dissect the trailer.
Immortals of Aveum Teaser Trailer
The brief teaser trailer unveiled magic shooter gameplay from Ascendant Studios arriving in 2023.
Tekken 8 Cinematic Trailer
Although the trailer for the upcoming Tekken 8 was short and didn’t contain much gameplay, story elements were revealed, and returning characters were showcased. Tekken staples such as King and Marshall Law are returning.
Nightingale Teaser Trailer
A teaser trailer for a PvE multiplayer world building title, Nightingale was announced next at The Game Awards 2022. Umbrellas take the place of gliders in this game set in 1889, which is set to release sometime in 2023.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Trailer
Baldur’s Gate 3, the latest title in the epic Dungeons & Dragons spinoff series, was finally given a release window. There seems to be a freedom of choice aspect given to the player, with personalities that will undoubtedly clash with the player. It’s set to launch in August 2023 after a long time spent in beta/early access.
Wayfinder Trailer
A multiplayer loot PvE title, Wayfinder finds itself landing on consoles as loot lines player’s pockets with a beta next week.
Diablo IV Cinematic Trailer
Introduced by a Halsey concert, Diablo IV was unveiled at The Game Awards 2022, and Lilith seems to have made her appearance as a big bad—if not THE big bad—of the fourth hell-based entry. Diablo IV launches June 6, 2023.
Horizon Forbidden West DLC: Burning Shores Announcement
The next chapter in the Horizon series that isn’t Call of the Mountain brings Eloy to Los Angeles. The DLC expansion launches on April 19, 2023.
Blue Protocol Cinematic Trailer
Revealed by Bandai Namco, Blue Protocol is an Amazon Game Studios title that provides a multiplayer experience to the action-RPG genre with anime styling. It arrives in 2023 for PC and consoles.
Remnant 2 Cinematic Trailer
Sequel to the original title Remnant from 2019, the Remnant 2 trailer unveiled some new tidbits on what’s to be expected from the next title that releases in, you guessed it, 2023.
Transformers Reactivate Cinematic Trailer
Not much was revealed through the small teaser offered by The Game Awards 2022, but the new Transformers title will reactivate at an unspecified time in the future.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Announcement
A new Focus Entertainment title has also been revealed as a ghost centered ARPG. The small story trailer showcased the new title’s gameplay, and it will launch at the end of 2023.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trailer
An action adventure game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe has the player take the helm of a Space Marine in exciting 3rd person combat scenarios in this sequel. The latest Warhammer launches in 2023.
Meet Your Maker Trailer
A game based around trying, and trying again, with roguelike and world building elements from a multiplayer perspective was also announced at The Game Awards 2022. You can also meet your maker on April 4, 2023.
Crash Team Rumble Announcement
Faithfully presented by a Crash Bandicoot guy-in-a-suit, but unlike the last attempt at multiplayer Crash with Crash Bash back on the PlayStation, Crash Team Rumble at The Game Awards 2022 presented the Marsupial dunking a Wumpa Fruit on opponents in a multiplayer team game. Get warped in team battle in 2023.
Crime Boss Announcement
Featuring all-star talent with Michael Madsen, Danny Trejo, and even Vanilla Ice, Crime Boss is a new title first shown at The Game Awards 2022. While not much gameplay was shown, the title launches on March 28, 2023.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrand Raid DLC Announcement
The latest content for Modern Warfare 2 comes in the form of a raid, and fans can gain access when it launches as a free content update on December 14.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC Announcement Trailer
Joining Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand is Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed, in the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Return to Night City to meet him in 2023.
Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon Cinematic Trailer
A new FromSoftware title in the Armored Core series was then announced, with a nod of “Let the last cinders burn” to their Dark Souls series in the trailer. The sixth entry will launch sometime in 2023.
Final Fantasy XVI Trailer
Ending The Game Awards 2022 with a flourish is the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI. The “Revenge” trailer showcased the new entry’s action-RPG aspects with a western knight flair. Series staples like chocobos and huge summons in Ifrit, Shiva and Odin were presented in all their glory. Final Fantasy XVI will start as a PS5 console exclusive on June 23, 2023, with a PC release possible in 2024.
