The Xbox 20th anniversary is going to bring all the excitement with a look back at memories and looking forward with exciting news.
Today, the Xbox turns 20 years old! It has been 20 years since the first Halo game, Halo: Combat Evolved, first dropped with the console. The green team will be hosting their Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration livestream that will primarily contain a lot of reminiscing and detailing the journey that Xbox took to get where it is today.
The first surprise from Microsoft comes today as the announced PlayStation 5 exclusive game from Luminous Productions’ and Square Enix, Forspoken, has made an appearance in the Microsoft Store today. It shows on the site that the game will also have Xbox achievements and cloud saves. The game was initially planned to be only available on PS5 and PC, but this store page comes as a shock and who knows what else will be possible?
It has already been confirmed by the general manager of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, that no new video game titles will be announced at this event as it is not focused as a “news beat.” Although, there is expected to be some big, exciting moments and potential sneak peeks at potential updates and future plans for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X and maybe some more looks at Halo Infinite.
There is also confirmation that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Red Notice) will be making a special celebrity appearance as he appeared at the initial launch back in 2001. What a time to be alive then and now! There was also a tease from the actor, Pablo Schreiber, who will play Master Chief, who says “”something very exciting will happen” during the event.

The Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration livestream will take place November 15, 2021 at 10:00 am PT (1:00 PM ET) on Xbox’s Facebook page, official Twitch channel, or YouTube channel to watch the event live. There will also be some nice celebratory merchandise to commemorate the event in the Xbox Gear Store.
