I enjoy taking trips to the beach, going on hikes, and discovering new adventures with friends and family. Capturing these moments with our phones is enjoyable, but using a drone has been an especially fun experience. The Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus is a compact drone that is ideal for beginners who are curious about this technology. Overall, I found the experience to be very positive, with only minor issues along the way. As we approach the summer season, I find myself excited to spend more time outdoors, and with this drone, I know I will be outside frequently.
Out of the box, the Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus provides everything needed to be ready for your first flight. The review unit I received included a sleek carrying case, a USB-C charger, an extra battery, and additional propellers for replacement as needed. A quick note regarding the USB-C cable: it is a proprietary type designed specifically for charging the drone’s batteries, and other branded cables may not function as efficiently. The extra battery is particularly valuable on days when I plan to record a lot of footage. The drone also supports external storage via micro SD cards up to 256GB. I had an extra card at home, which I was able to format and insert with ease.

For some users, flying a drone can feel intimidating. Concerns about understanding the controls, flying in a drone-friendly area, or the possibility of crashing into objects or people can cause hesitation. My experience with the Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus has been very enjoyable, and I found the learning curve to be manageable. For safety reasons, it’s strongly recommended that beginners fly the drone above 15 meters to minimize risk. With two batteries, the total flight time is approximately 74 minutes, which is impressive given the drone’s size. The drone performs well in windy conditions, thanks to its level 6 wind resistance, meaning it is able to handle strong breezes and wind speeds up to 25 to 31 mph. Additionally, the range of the Ruko F11PRO 2 is notably extensive, reaching over 20,000 feet before losing connection.
I was particularly impressed by the camera quality on this drone. It features a half-inch CMOS sensor with 48 MP resolution, capable of capturing photos in 8K. For videos, it records in 4K at 30fps. I was initially worried that windy conditions might compromise video quality, but the built-in 3-Axis gimbal delivered remarkably smooth footage. The drone also offers up to 5x optical zoom with an f/1.8 aperture, which is excellent for low-light conditions and nighttime shooting.

The Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus has several features that I didn’t expect to enjoy so much, such as the GPS follow mode. This feature is particularly useful for capturing activities like biking along a trail or walking on the beach, as it tracks your location and follows at a preset distance. It also offers low-altitude flight modes for capturing up-close shots. I would recommend this feature more for experienced drone pilots, rather than beginners, due to its advanced nature.
“My experience with the Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus has been very enjoyable, and I found the learning curve to be manageable.”
While I enjoyed my time with the Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus, I found the user interface of the accompanying app to be somewhat frustrating. The app requires attaching a smartphone to the controller via the USB-C cable, which can be cumbersome. I encountered frequent app crashes and instances where video feedback would disappear mid-flight.

Additionally, I experienced GPS connectivity issues in certain areas, which prevented functions like “Return to Launch” from working properly. This often meant landing the drone manually, even when I was over a lake capturing the sunset. Fortunately, since it was daytime, I did not lose sight of the drone, but the recurring connectivity issues raised some concerns about reliability during critical moments.
I believe this is an excellent device for those interested in exploring drone flying. The Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus drone is very beginner-friendly and capable of capturing stunning imagery in 8K photos and 4K videos. The extra battery is a thoughtful addition for longer outings, ensuring you don’t run out of power mid-session. Although the app issues are not ideal, they are not deal-breakers, and I hope future updates will address these problems. Overall, the Ruko F11PRO 2 Plus drone is a solid choice for anyone looking to try their first drone, offering great features and impressive performance.
