Animal Crossing gets the Nintendo Direct treatment next week. Here is how fans can tune in to the 20-minute info drop.
Since its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been an absolute sales juggernaut with over 33 million units sold worldwide for the Nintendo Switch.
During a prior Nintendo Direct there were a plethora of Nintendo announcements, and among them was a promised Animal Crossing Direct that will take place in the near future. But this Wednesday, the curtain was pulled back to reveal the date on which the Direct will take place finally.
Animal Crossing‘s Twitter account broke the news from Isabel’s point of view:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received many events in the past and has gotten much support since its release in March of last year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the game has reached a level of epic success, including a viral bit where actor Elijah Wood would visit players’ islands asking to unload turnips.
The title still remains relevant, even though updates have dried up until recently. Nintendo’s official Twitter said “Thank you for your support and patience,” when announcing that new content will arrive. Rumours of beloved character Brewster’s return bringing with him his iconic café The Roost aims to please long-time fans of the franchise.
The upcoming content will be released in November, so fans should set their calendars to October 15, at 7 AM PT. A wealth of information will also surely be announced, considering 20 minutes of air time will inform on how players can further improve their islands. Fans looking to return to their islands may need to spruce things up a bit in preparation for the new content.
Villagers should tune in to Nintendo’s Twitch channel for a live stream of the event, or their official YouTube channel will also host the Horizon news special.
