Assassin's Creed Mirage Leaks Have Turned Torrential With Big Ubisoft DCMA Strikes

The Assassin’s Creed Mirage beans are spilling so fast Ubisoft can barely keep up with plugging the hull’s leakage with DCMA strikes.

Over the past few days, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been leaking all over the internet at a torrential pace. The rumoured Infinity title in the Assassin’s Creed bag of tricks seems to have taken a back seat with the explosion of new information about the new title. As things ramp up, Ubisoft is trying to right the ship with a series DCMA strikes that have only confirmed the leaks. Users are taking to Twitter and other social media to share their findings, starting with a YouTube video posted by French Youtuber j0hnathan, outlining some of the leaks on August 28.

The leaks point to a new mainline Creed title supposedly staring Valhalla character Basim, in his youth until becoming a member of the Creed, and before meeting Sigurd. This information was half debunked and half confirmed by notable Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier on Twitter.

Schreier’s latest tweet revealed frontal images of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, confirming the title’s name and “The Forty Thieves Quest,” which has since been DMCA’ed by Ubisoft. The screenshots appeared to be authentic, but the DMCA strike seems to have validated the leak itself. The new Mirage title seeks to return the Creed to its former glory as a stealth assassination, instead of the levelling/brawling/grinding system implemented in recent games starting with Assassin’s Creed Origin.

While nothing has been formally confirmed, all the information presented has not been denied either. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is supposedly set in Baghdad, and will have a release date of Spring 2023.

The interesting bit about all the leaks, is they arrive just prior to the upcoming Ubisoft forward which is set to take place on September 10, at 3 p.m. EST. Ubisoft may just be attempting to jury-rig the massive leaks happening around the title until then, where they can formally blow the hinges off the leaky door barely hanging by a thread now.

Update: Since writing the story, Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next instalment in the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise. No platforms or a release date have been announced, but more details are slated to be announced during Ubisoft Forward on September 10.
