Ever wonder what happens when the adventure for gold is over, and you have to ascend back out of the dungeon? Rogue Fortune answers that question.
Built as a rogue-like reminiscent of Hades, Rogue Fortune does it a little differently than most other games of the same genre. This difference mostly comes in the form of how the buffs and inventory of your character are managed. While in other games the inventory is just a list of stuff you’ve obtained throughout the journey, Rogue Fortune instead uses a Tetris-like system to organize and buff your character.
After every successfully cleared level, you will have the option to buy and organize buffs into a square grid. Depending on how you organize these Tetris-shaped blocks, you will gain specific buffs and effects, sometimes even boosting them to the extreme through pre-existing highlighted spaces on the grid. The effects could include things like shooting three projectiles at a time instead of just one, or more generic buffs like extra health.
These effects, of course, impact the combat, which consists of a melee and ranged weapon that will also have to be organized inside of your inventory, alongside a couple of other pieces of gear that depend on what your playstyle is.
Your character has already reached the fabled treasure hoard at the end of the dungeon; the whole goal of this whole ordeal through chambers and enemies is to escape with as much gold as possible, which decreases every time you hit. The tricky part starts when you choose a different “persona”, which is just a different character; so far we know of two, excluding the basic one.

The cat is, well, a cat, which is a very hard challenge because his board is just a cat face, making it tricky to stack buffs that will help you through the dungeon. The good part is that it naturally comes with nine lives, making death a far-off possibility. The other is the old man who has double pockets and starts with a lot of gold but has low health and attack power.
The developers designed it to be quick and fun, with sessions lasting an average of about 30 minutes of fun. Rogue Fortune will be available for PS5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC and will release sometime in 2027.
