Logitech Makes Big Steps Toward Sustainability

Major Steps to A Cleaner Future

Logitech Making Big Steps Toward Sustainability

Logitech made two major announcements today that show the company is serious about reducing its environmental impact.

First, Logitech is refreshing its lineup of video conferencing hardware, including the popular Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, Tap IP scheduler, Zone Wireless 2, Brio 305, Brio 505 and more. These existing products will now be made with post-consumer recycled plastics rather than virgin plastics. This allows companies equipped with Logitech gear to manage their carbon footprints better.

Logitech doesn’t just stop at using greener materials. They’ve also implemented energy-saving features that can dramatically reduce power consumption. For example, the Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 1.5 tons per 100 conference rooms. Organizations can eliminate up to 76 tons of CO2 emissions per 100 rooms by enabling low-power modes on connected TVs.

This news comes as environmental responsibility becomes critical for IT departments. According to research by Frost & Sullivan, 65% of IT professionals said sustainability leadership is an important 2024 goal. With big names like Logitech on board, expect more companies to make similar commitments this year.

“By transitioning our portfolio of conference room devices to a lower product carbon footprint, we are helping other companies navigate their sustainability challenges,” said Prakash Arunkundrum, Chief Operating Officer at Logitech. “We’re not only designing and manufacturing new products with recycled plastic and other lower carbon materials, but refreshing existing products to provide IT leaders with a new way to evaluate their workplace technology investment in conference room systems – one that includes people and planet. We do this without increasing prices or compromising the highest quality and performance companies expect from Logitech.”

And in an effort to create more sweeping change, Logitech is offering to share its expertise with others in the consumer tech industry. Any company can reach out to learn Logitech’s methods for designing sustainable products and incorporating recycled materials into manufacturing.

Logitech has already started labelling products with carbon footprint data, putting them on track to have full transparency by their 2025 target. This insight makes choosing workplace tech simple for enterprise customers reporting on sustainability metrics.

Between refreshing existing products and ensuring new ones follow strict green guidelines, Logitech is working to remove more carbon than it creates by 2030. Helping other companies aims to accelerate the industry-wide adoption of sustainable best practices.
