Following in the footsteps of the previous Secret Lair Commander Pre-Cons, Hatsune Miku is getting her very own commander deck in Magic: The Gathering next week.
Secret Lair has been a hot topic for fans of Magic: The Gathering. For many, it’s a way for fans to get their hands on special reprints that make the game undeniably more approachable, and for others, it’s a way to express themselves on the tabletops of MTG with fandom not normally found in-game.
Wizards of the Coast has come out cannons blazing today with the news that Hatsune Miku (the animated internet sensation) will be receiving her very own Commander pre-constructed deck through Secret Lair, and, unlike the controversy surrounding the latest Wizard of Barge release (it sold out almost instantly, and was almost as quickly scalped on resale websites for massive markups), this deck will be available for fans to pre-order for a whole 24 hours.
Yes, this means Magic: The Gathering fans will be guaranteed a copy of the Secret Lair deck if they place an order within 24 hours of the sale going live on August 10. Yes, this also means it will not sell out while fans wait in a line queue.
Designed by Magic: The Gathering‘s Carmen Klomparens, this deck is the first Universes Beyond Secret Lair Commander Deck, and it combines the creativity of Secret Lair with one of the world’s most recognizable virtual performers. Miku, Song of the People is a reprint of Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice, and it leads the deck, inviting players to flood the tabletop stage with creatures and turn that momentum into an encore-worthy performance.
The deck features 13 cards with new art by Japanese artists exclusive to this release, including a special illustration by KEI, Hatsune Miku’s first software packaging illustrator. KEI does the artwork for the face of the deck, Miku, Song of the People. The Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku will include:

- 12x Foil borderless cards featuring new artwork based on Hatsune Miku.
- 7x Foil borderless Magic: The Gathering basic Plains featuring new artwork

To purchase a copy of the new Commander pre-con from Secret Lair, Secret Lair is introducing a 24-hour order window to help more fans get the deck and avoid the issue that occurred with the Goblin Storm release. Orders placed between Monday, August 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. EST and Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:59 a.m. EST will be guaranteed. A limited quantity will be available to ship right away upon order, while additional orders placed during the window are expected to ship in May 2027 in North America and June 2027 in Europe.
