Microsoft has announced a financing plan for those looking for an affordable means to get an Xbox One and related services called Xbox All Access.
The plan was revealed through a since-removed Xbox Wire announcement, but VentureBeat managed to write up the details before it was taken down. Xbox All Access will allow those interested to pay for an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Games Pass for 24 monthly payments of $22 or $35 depending on whether they choose an Xbox One S or Xbox One X respectively.
“For no upfront cost and one low monthly price for 24 months, Xbox All Access gets you a new Xbox One S or Xbox One X, access to more than 100 great games through Xbox Game Pass, and online multiplayer with Xbox Live Gold,” Xbox product marketing boss Bogdan Bilan said, according to VentureBeat. “That’s more than 100 all-you-can-play games — including highly-anticipated new Xbox One exclusives the day they’re released, plus more games added all the time on the fastest, most reliable gaming network and an Xbox One console.”
The plan is comparable to cellphone plans from carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T, where the payments are meant to cover the cost of the Xbox One itself, as it will belong to you rather than you leasing the devices for monthly payments. However, the overall cost for the console and two years of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass is cheaper through Xbox All Access than it would be buying all three outright.
The Xbox One S’ plan totals around $528 over the course of two years, where buying the system and subscribing to both services for 24 months would bring you over $700 in total costs. The Xbox One X’s plan will collectively cost $840, but the console itself will only account for $15 of your monthly payment, bringing the device’s cost to $360, versus its usual $500 price tag.
Those who acquire an Xbox One through Xbox All Access can opt out at any time, but they will have to make up the remaining cost of the Xbox in order to do so.
The initial post noted that Xbox All Access would be a “limited-time offer,” so those looking for a more affordable means of buying an Xbox One should look into Xbox All Access before it’s too late.
At this time, the Xbox All Access program is US Only, no details on if or when it will expand to other teratories.
