Sleep The Very Best

Pokémon Sleep Shows Fans How To Sleep

First announced way back in 2019, Pokémon Sleep finally showed fans some gameplay today ahead of its planned Summer 2023 release.

Today, fans have gotten a look under the sheets of the previously announced Pokémon Sleep, and how gameplay works. In an attempt to catch them all this time around, players will have to contend with obtaining different ‘sleep styles’ for Pokémon. An example of the different styles can be seen below, as Pikachu has three different variants for fans to see.

Pokémon Sleep takes place on a group of islands, and the player has to work together with Professor Neroli and Snorlax, who are studying the sleeping habits of Pokémon. The journey begins by putting your smart device (with the Pokémon Sleep app installed) on your pillow and sleeping. The app will track the user’s sleep as they’re resting. The more sleep the user gets the higher the sleep score will be and the more progress is made on the sleep style Dex. This is a game that rewards healthy sleeping habits.

Players can feed and raise Snorlax to grow bigger. When Snorlax grows, more Pokémon sleep styles become available, and different Pokémon types will be more likely to visit. A user’s sleep score multiplied by Snorlax’s strength is the player’s Drowsy Power, and the higher the Drowsy Power, the higher the rate of Pokémon gathering. So, the healthier the user’s sleep patterns are, the higher the sleep score and the higher the rate of catching different sleep styles.

The Pokémon Sleep also monitors the user’s sleep and details notable statistics on a session, it even goes as far as to let a user know whether they were sleeping nosily or not the next morning by informing the user of their own sleeping style.

While Pokémon Sleep is scheduled to launch in ‘late July,’ the trailer can be seen on the official Pokémon YouTube, or below, and Android users can pre-register here.
