SEGA just announced at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live the pre-order launch on Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers‘ new update.
Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live showed off some exclusive new information on Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers. Sonic Superstars will be coming out on October 17, 2023, and it was announced that pre-orders are now available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam (PC). They also highlighted that Sonic Frontiers will be receiving a new free update launching on September 28, 2023. A new trailer for both showcases was shown at the live show.
The latest trailer for Sonic Superstars gave a deeper look into the local co-op and Battle Mode. Players can team up with three other players in drop-in and drop-out local co-op, or challenge up to seven other players online or three other players locally in the new Battle Mode.
Sega also noted that Sonic Superstars’ Digital Deluxe edition, which will include the base game, LEGO Fun Pack with LEGO character skins and levels for Battle Mode, as well as extra content, including a special Sonic Rabbit skin that shows off Sonic’s original character design, Mecha Sonic parts for Battle Mode, exclusive wallpapers, a digital artbook and a mini-OST, all for the price of $69.99 USD. As for Sonic Frontiers, players will be able to experience its third free update, where there will be new story content, new challenges and the ability to play as Tails, Amy and Knuckles in this epic Final Horizon Update. The trailer showed the iconic characters staring at a ginormous new enemy. This was the shared details on the latest story:
