Deadly Class Gets First Trailer Featuring Russo Brothers Commentary

Deadly Class Gets First Trailer Featuring Russo Brothers Commentary

Syfy has released a first look at the upcoming Deadly Class TV show featuring assassins, schoolwork and most importantly, a fair bit of angst.

The trailer features a sizzle reel from the show as well as commentary from executive producers Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of the recent Avengers: Infinity War film. In between the new footage,  the two praise Deadly Class’s source material, saying that the first time that they read it they were “blown away.” The series will be released at some point in 2019, but the specific date has not yet been revealed.

The comic that the show is based on is written by Rick Remender and features art by Wes Craig. It takes place at a secret high school in San Francisco called King’s Dominion Atelier of the Deadly Arts, where students from crime families across the globe train to become assassins. It follows an orphan named Marcus as he navigates through the treacherous corridors of King’s Dominion, making a couple of friends and a whole lot of enemies along the way. Since it launched in 2014, Deadly Class has been met with considerable acclaim for its gorgeous art and engaging action/horror story that is both a coming of age tale and a 1980’s period piece.

This past weekend at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, artist Wes Craig said that they are currently wrapping up filming on the second episode of the series and also mentioned that the comic series isn’t ending anytime soon. While you’re waiting for the show to release you can check out the Deadly Class comic series which launches its thirty-third issue later this month.
