Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie Gets Official Trailer & Cameos

Several YouTubers Appear In Cameo Roles

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location (PC) Review 1

With the release of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie coming later this year, the first official trailer was released, showing off Josh Hutcherson’s leading role, as well as several YouTuber cameos.

Currently slotted for a release just in time for Halloween, on October 27th, 2023, the highly-anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s movie got its first official trailer. Coming from horror powerhouse Blumhouse Productions, this video-game adaptation features Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) in the starring role, alongside Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo, Scream) as the deranged restaurant owner and serial killer, William Afton, as well as Mary Stuart Masterson, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, and Elizabeth Lail.

While best known for its jump-scare-laden set of games and fan-made spin-offs, Five Nights at Freddy’s has also entertained fans for years with its incredibly deep, hidden lore, as well as with books and merchandise. Based on kid’s arcade and restaurant franchises, like Chuck E. Cheese, featuring animatronic entertainers, Five Nights at Freddy’s is the story of an unsuspecting nighttime security guard who finds themselves holding off the likes of Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and more, in order to survive each night and progress through the game.

The trailer appears to show a lot of these mechanics off, staying pretty close to the source material, as well as having some fun cameos from the YouTubers known for playing the series. The biggest cameo appearance comes from CoryxKenshin, who plays the role of a taxi driver in the trailer, while we also see 8-Bit Ryan, Baz, Razzbowski, FusionZGamer, and Dawko all pose wearing uniforms for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria’s “Employee of the Month” board.

The biggest YouTuber known for their FNAF playthroughs, Markiplier, is not seen in the trailer, and while he was asked in an interview back in March with Variety about his possible involvement in the film, he stated that he “couldn’t say anything.” It would definitely be a shame to miss out on the King of Five Nights at Freddy’s in this movie adaptation, especially with his recent work moving into film with the announcement of Iron Lung, based on the game, back in April, but time will tell who else we can expect to see in this new video-game adaptation.
