Emmys 2022: Big Primetime Nominees Announced

The Primetime Emmy nominees have been announced for 2022!

Usually each year when the nominees for the Emmys are announced, so are the platforms that lead in nominations. For the Emmys 2022, the mould has been broken and viewers have just received a list of worthy nominees with the shows that lead.

The Television Academy’s largest annual event, the Emmys 2022, is loaded with a robust talent pool over the span of the entire year to show which television show is top dog, and which television shows are considered ‘unmissable.’

Emmys 2022: Big Primetime Nominees Announced

Spoiler alert, Succession was the most nominated show with an eye-opening 25 nominations, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, Ted Lasso came in second place with a staggering 20 nominations.

Regarding the decision to leave the platform/network counts out of the nomination count, TV Academy President Maury McIntyre told Variety in 2021 that “In some ways I think I would prefer the Academy just to step out of the platform, for lack of a better word, ‘wars’ altogether,” with “We don’t ultimately care. We’re here to honour the work…Our partners can slice and dice it however they want,” regarding the network count snubbing.
