Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Highlight Sony’s 2024 PS5 Game Reveal

Releasing in 2024!

Silent Hill 2 Landing On The Sony "Biggest Games Coming To PS5" List Infers 2024 Launch

Sony has unleashed a new blog post featuring the “Biggest Games Coming to PS5,” and the list contains some of the best-announced games during the 2023 year, including Silent Hill 2, for release in 2024.

Sony has released a big list to kick off the year 2024, calling it The Biggest Games Coming to PS5. The list is headlined with the phrase “Discover the best upcoming games for PlayStation 5 that you can look forward to playing in the year ahead,” meaning that every title on the list is scheduled for release in the calendar year 2024.

This includes the previously announced timed exclusive Silent Hill 2, as well as another Konami remake, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. Fans have heard virtually nothing about Silent Hill 2 since the original announcement trailer, which was released in October 2022, except that it will be a one-year PS5 console exclusive. Fans waiting to return to Silent Hill will be able to do so in 2024. You can check out the latest trailer for the horror title below.

Since the announcement trailer, the Bloober Team working on the remake has asked fans to be patient with the state of the game while they’re working on it on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, as Silent Hill 2 has had a troubled history especially where the source code is concerned. The post from November 2023 is the last fans have heard regarding the Silent Hill 2 remake, and the post can be seen below.

While there are a myriad of quality titles on the Biggest Games Coming to PS5 list, Konami has had a troubled history of launching their IPs, especially considering the latest original entries in both the Metal Gear and Silent Hill franchises have been marred by controversy and Pachinko machines.

Fans interested in the entire list can head over to the PlayStation Blog for more information, and although we have the widest window of 2024 as a release window for these titles, the Bloober Team assures fans, “We are confident that the wait will be worthwhile.”
