Silent Hill: Ascension Premieres On A Frightening Halloween

The new interactive streaming experience, Silent Hill: Ascension is coming for viewer’s eyeballs on the scariest day of the year, October 31.

Genvid CEO, Jacob Navok has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to inform horror enthusiasts that the latest chapter in the Silent Hill series, Silent Hill: Ascension, is scheduled to premiere on Halloween this October. Fans of the cult-classic horror series have not seen any new titles or content since the now-defunct P.T., which launched in 2014 and was removed from existence shortly after.

Unless fans count the 2019 launch of SH pachinko machines, Ascension is the first original entry in the series for almost a whole 10 years, and it’s an interactive experience similar (but not quite) to the Netflix Original, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. The official premiere trailer can be seen below.

Unlike Bandersnatch, the entire audience is able to influence the events of the Ascension at once. The Genvid CEO Jacob Navok explains, “You, and the rest of the community, will decide the fate of its characters,” relating the new live interactive experience to streaming. After Halloween, a new scene will launch each day at 9 p.m. EST that the audience can interact with, driving the story forward, culminating in a complete horror series tailor-made for the audience after the final scene airs, Navok says even the creators don’t know how things are going to unfold.

Navok assures fans in the video who aren’t able to tune in each night that going to their new app, or their website can keep fans who have missed a scene or two in the loop.
