Amid Rumours, Until Dawn's Re-Release Allegedly Worked On By Virtuos

After news came out nearly two weeks ago that Until Dawn would be receiving a film release, more information has spilled onto the internet today alleging a re-release of the title.

It’s safe to say Until Dawn has carried a cult-classic-like legacy since its release back in 2015, and it has found itself in the news this month due to the announcement that the title would be receiving a film adaptation. While not much is known regarding the adaptation just yet, another tidbit regarding the dormant series has hit the ground running.

Until Dawn allegedly has a re-release in the works. First reported by VGC, the information was found on Reddit by user KekanKok, and the user revealed a developer LinkedIn profile for Animation Director Naceri Lu. The profile suggests the developer now works at Offworld Industries, but beforehand, it shows he was employed by Virtuos and had duties to “Directly respond to the head of Art director in Virtuos studio” for 1.5 years starting in 2019.

Interestingly, the listing suggests Lu worked on Until Dawn four years after it was initially released, which not only means a re-release was in the works before even five years had passed, but PlayStation had this Until Dawn project in the works for nearly five years. If the alleged re-release launches within the next two years, that means the title would have launched twice in the past decade. Whereas there are still titles trying to get off the ground for the first time, like Beyond Good & Evil 2 or Skull & Bones.
