Indie Publisher Whitethorn Games has just announced their latest charitable endeavour, an up to 18-hour marathon for the Extra Life Charity this Saturday, with all proceeds going to charity.
Whitethorn Games is back at it again with another charitable event, this time, it is a live-stream marathon (no relation to the upcoming Bungie title) that will take place this weekend on Saturday, November 4. The marathon will feature a lineup of titles from the publishers themselves and other fun events like “Minecraft Manhunt Bingo”. The event schedule is listed below and includes extension goals — a common occurrence in marathon streams — if the stream does well enough.
The charitable organization this time is Extra Life, whose goal is “a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round to Change Kids’ Health to Change the Future”. Donations during the event will help fund important life-saving treatments and critical care for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and overall help fund important research that will help hospitals develop innovative methods and technology to ultimately save kids’ lives. Whitethorn Games promises 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards this charitable cause.
Whitethorn Games will go live on November 4th at 12 p.m. EST, and will feature many activities to keep the audience entertained. Whitethorn will also be hosting giveaways, and the stream may feature a guest appearance from Whitethorn Employee/Office Cat Venti. Listed below are the milestones the marathon stream can hit, and at the $1 million mark, Whitethorn Games will hilariously (and legally) change their name to “WhiteHorn Games.” But, the more reasonable $400 goal will allow the audience to view a skillful Hades speed run.
