Destiny 2: The Final Shape Unleashes An Exciting Prismatic Subclass & New Faction

A new livestream has taken over the internet today, and Bungie has pulled out all the stops for their upcoming Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion, including a new subclass and much more.

Today, Bungie uncorked a wealth of information regarding Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest expansions Bungie has done for their flagship title. During the live stream, many exciting new details have been pulled into the light, including a new enemy faction, a new prismatic subclass, the first-ever exotic class items, and more. The whole live stream can be watched just below.

Although Destiny 2: The Final Shape has been delayed, on June 4th, guardians will finally enter the Pale Heart of the Traveller in pursuit of The Witness. The new enemy faction is called ‘the Dread’ and they are a modelled species after The Witness. Aside from combatting the previous Subjugators and Tormentors in the Lightfall expansion, three new enemy types will plague the battlefield. The Grim and Husk enemy types are the standard rank-and-file enemies, where the Grim is a flyer that suppresses Guardians, and the Husk is an athletic melee type that must be executed.

The other two enemy types, the Attendant and Weaver, wield the dark powers of Stasis and Strand to disrupt Guardian fire teams. Previously, Bungie introduced new supers for the Light subclasses, and today, they’ve blown that out of the water by allowing Guardians access to the Prismatic subclass. This powerhouse new class allows Guardians to become masters of light and dark, and you will be able to wield both simultaneously in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Imagine, Devour synergizing with a Sunbracers grenade volley. This is no longer an imaginary combo in The Final Shape. it’s worth mentioning that each class will get a unique grenade that combines multiple subclass elements. Warlocks will have access to Stasis+Void, Titans will have Strand+Arc, and Hunters will have Solar+Stasis.

Lastly, new Exotic class items will be made available in The Final Shape. Interestingly enough, the exotics will function like a randomizer, meaning each exotic item will take two features from previous class items (these can even crossover, a Titan perk can fall on a Warlock bond, etc…) and combine them to unleash world of hurt on opponents.

All these exciting improvements will be available on June 4th, when Destiny 2 takes The Final Shape. Fans should note that Bungie is also rolling out other improvements before launch, and they’re titling it Destiny 2: Into Light. This includes a new Onslaught game mode, new raid bosses, a new social setting called the “Hall of Champions,” and much more. Fans looking for more information can head over to the official Bungie site.
