Everything Dragon Ball Coming Soon: Fortnite, Film and Video Game 1

Dragon Ball is going to have some big releases coming out, beginning with the Fortnite collaboration, the upcoming film release and video game network testing.

The Dragon Ball franchise will always be cemented for having one of the biggest cult followings in anime history. The next few months have many projects lined up related to the anime series, which includes the Fortnite collaboration dropping into the Item Shop; the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero releasing in North America August 19; and finally the video game, Dragon Ball: The Breakers coming out on October 14.

The Fortnite crossover and Dragon Ball film are more closely aligned with one another as fans have speculated the upcoming collab will drop on August 18—the same day the film hits theatres. Allegedly, Epic Games has three major updates in Chapter 3 Season 3, and this is one of them. A Twitter post from @ShiinaBR posted what they knew about the Dragon Ball leaks.

They pointed out some major, reasonable speculative information:

  • 4 Skins (Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, & 99% a female skin)
  • A unique event screen in the lobby
  • LOTS of quests
  • Free rewards
  • A “capsule” item in BR & Creative
  • A special place codenamed “Preheat”
  • “Attack Ball” glider

ShiinaBR also pointed out that players may be able to use a “Kamehameha” as a Mythic ability, similar to the Marvel crossover season in Chapter 2 Season 4 with Iron Man’s Unibeam. The new location code-named “Preheat” has no further details revealed. What is already known is the plot and reception of the North American release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

The film is the 21st Dragon Ball feature film in the franchise but is the first to be primarily produced using 3D animation. The story will revolve around Piccolo and his former student Gohan who attempt to save the world from the newly revitalized Red Ribbon Army. Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama worked very closely with the story writing, screenplay and character design of this film. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was released in Japan on June 11, 2022 but will be coming to North American theatres on August 19, 2022.

Everything Dragon Ball Coming Soon: Fortnite, Film And Video Game 2

Going back to last year in 2021, a new Dragon Ball game was announced by Bandai Namco, with developer Dimps (known for the Budakai fighting games) set to create a unique multiplayer game. That Xenoverse-related game was Dragon Ball: The Breakers. This week, Bandai Namco published a new trailer for the game that showed off the many features and editions available to pre-order. Interestingly enough, it also unveiled that the second Raider character would be the iconic space alien emperor, Frieza.

The trailer confirmed that players would be able to use all four forms of Frieza, along with the aid of the two elite members of the Frieza Force, Zarbon and Dodoria. Some other key features from the trailer showcased how players who are acting as survivors can hold off the villain’s wrath by using Capsule Corps vehicles and special techniques such as Tien Shinhan’s blinding Solar Flare attack.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is described as an asymmetrical multiplayer survival game, where seven players are cast as regular humans, while one player takes the role of a classic Dragon Ball villain. The human players are tasked with surviving, while the villain must hunt them down.

Bandai Namco noted the game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam (PC)—it was not clear about next-gen consoles. Various in-game perks are included in the $79.99 pre-order bundle, including some physical bonuses such as the steelbook case and a 9-centimeter statue of the husk that Cell leaves behind after he transforms into his more powerful form. The next Closed Network Test is coming to all consoles on August 5-6; registrations must be submitted on the Bandai Namco website before August 1.

So, if you are a big Dragon Ball fan, the next few months are stacked with so much content to play with and watch. Collect them like the Dragon Balls themselves and maybe Shenron will grant you that one wish!
