A New Animated Series, Pokemon: Hisuian, Premiering May 18

Today, The Pokémon Company revealed details about a new animated series, Pokémon: Hisuian Snow, that will take fans on a new adventure in the Hisui region.

Originally teased during a Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day 2022, the web series is called Pokémon: Hisuian Snow and is slated to premiere on May 18, 2022, exclusively on the official Pokémon YouTube channel and Pokémon TV.

The Hisui was originally explored in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and represents the Sinnoh region, which was before Pokémon Trainers and Pokémon Leagues existed. The series’ story takes place when the relationship between people and Pokémon was a lot different. Just like in Legends: Arceus.

Those who watch the limited web series will meet both Hisuian Pokémon and new characters. The Pokémon Company has also revealed the first details of the show’s major characters and Pokémon.

The protagonist this time around is Alec, who boards a boat and reminisces about the first time his father took him to the Hisui region. The show will explore Alec’s stories from the past as he is on his way to the Hisui region in search of medicinal herbs. According to the Pokémon Company, he is, a “mild-mannered young man who is studying to become a doctor.” He also had an “adventurous and mischievous side to him when he was a child.”

Alec’s father is a woodworker who originally lived in a different region, but then he moved to the Hisui region to find materials. He also fears Pokémon because of a certain incident that will no doubt be revealed in the show.

Pokémon: Hisuian Snow is produced by The Pokémon Company in a collaboration with WIT STUDIO. The studios want to remind fans to look forward to more information regarding additional episode release dates following the release of the first one.
