Pokémon Scarlet and Violet New Trailer Reveal New Details and November 18th Launch Date

Nintendo has released a second trailer for its upcoming ninth-generation mainline games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which revealed when exactly the new games are releasing, which is on November 18th.

That’s not all that was revealed as we got new details on the game including the player’s assumed rival, Nemona and just not one but two new professors, Professor Sada and Professor Turo who as tradition will kick off the players journey by giving them their very first partner. This is a new addition to the Pokémon games as professors are generally the same in each of the generation games, but this time around whatever version players pick up later this year will be exclusive to that version.

It seems developer, Game Freak is taking a similar approach to professors as with each version’s other exclusives. Another feature of the game shown off in the trailer is multiplayer, where up to four players will be able to travel together and explore various locations in the still-unnamed region. Both upcoming games are described as the first open-world RPG in the series, following the release of Legends: Arceus the enhancement of the formula players expect is not too surprising.

We are also introduced to the newly revealed Pokémon including Lechonk, Smoliv, and Pawmi. It doesn’t stop there as we also got a first look at the game’s Legendaries that will be featured on both game’s covers, Koraidon and Miraidon. We also got another look at this generation’s starters including Sprigatito – “a capricious, attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokémon”, Fuecoco – “a laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon that does things at its own pace”, and Quaxly – “an earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.”

The news follows the announcement of both games back in February which was initially slated for sometime in late 2022. Knowing that the ninth generation will kick off in November isn’t too surprising, Nintendo as of late in its most recent mainline releases has made mid-November it’s time to release its newest Pokémon entries.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release on Nintendo Switch on November 18th, as a part of the announcement preorders are currently live on the Nintendo eShop.
